Welcome to our feature “Off the Clock,” in which we ask our favorite chefs where they like to drink and dine after service. This week, we’re talking to Stuart Longworth, bar manager at Jones Wood Foundry on the Upper East Side, about where he goes for after-work drinks.
The Pony Bar: the beers bring us there. It’s great for domestic draft beers. We
love the atmosphere and the bartenders.
Banshee: it’s a tiny little Irish bar on 1st Avenue. Its got a great late-night crowd, with a lot of other people like us, and the bartenders there are great.
The Recovery Room: Another solid late night crowd. They have a good pool table there, so we shoot pool.
Jay Bird: It’s just around the corner. It’s a cocktail bar, a little more upscale. We don’t go there that often, but when we do, it’s classy.
